Faithful JW or not, you strike me as a complete asshole.

i was baptized 30 years ago and have been in the faith for over 35 years.. our organization isn't perfect.
but i'm sick to death of seeing stereotypes about us.
we are not mindless automatons.
Faithful JW or not, you strike me as a complete asshole.

saw this on reddit so this is a bit of a copy/paste jobie but i thought there would be people here excited about this as i am.
i've enjoyed her show on scientology and seems like in season 3 she is branching out with jw's getting the first episode.
https://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/leah-remini-returning-to-ae-to-investigate-other-cult-like-religions/.
Great news! Looking forward to this.
seen in the 03/2018 watchtower study :.
"during the 2017 service year, more than 284,000 “rightly disposed” individuals symbolized their dedication to jehovah by water baptism.".
https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/watchtower-study-march-2018/baptism-requirement-for-christians/.
No surprise if there's a bit of a spike this year in baptism/publisher numbers with all the political turmoil. The constant narrative in the news feeds right into JW's fears.
I was thinking the same thing. My BIL has cut his working hours and is now pioneering as he believes Trump will somehow bring "the end."
Not a huge fan of Trump myself, but I don't think that's gonna happen (and if it does it will have nothing to do with the bible/god/the great trib/armageddon/etc.).
quite possibly the most cringeworthy thing i've seen them do yet.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tk88rstv6o.
Oh my word. . . . .
I don't know what to say.
omg my head exploded!in this months broadcast - splian goes off on how much care the wt in making sure its facts are correct, and how they make sure their quotes are not taking from people who have a bad reputation or have an agenda.
and that the make sure its always in context!.
they are such liars!.
You know, before seeing this video, I would have believed that they don't "deliberately" distort quotations.
I used out of context quotes all the time in my public talks, and I had no idea this was dishonest or wrong since this is what the society did!
But to create a video that gives EXPLICIT EXAMPLES of distortions they have actually used (citing evolutionists, atheists) and then to say "we would never want to take these quotes out of context" -- they know exactly what they're doing.
so as some of you know i have a podcast called this jw life.
i put my story out there in 9 parts, and i've had lots of great experiences so far and met lots of nice people and i've made new internet friends, even some in person.
this last seven days though has been soooooo cool!.
Excellent!
another agm thought.
in tight pants tony's part, he mentioned several times that jehovah draws those he chooses and only those rightly disposed would come in.
and individuals that liked the literature but made no progress towards becoming jw were a "waste of time".. was he setting the stage for them introducing the thought of predestination?
If predestination reduces expenses, they're all for it.
Praise Jah!!!
But in reality, I believe this is true:
They talk out of both sides of their mouth on this, as they do with lots of other topics. -sir82
on saturday, october 7.. any chance to get user name and password for stream?.
My poor wife (took her octogenarian mother) reports that Loesch is now yammering on about every building, parking lot and outhouse ever dedicated to Jehovah.
I owe her drinks and a nice dinner this afternoon.
what is mtv visit at the kingdom hall?
i know it is something about maintenance but what does the acronym stand for?.
'Look at them yo-yo's, that's they way you do it. . . '
i have been watching leah remini's show about scientology.
as she interviews people i see that i was right many years ago when i said this is a lot like the jws.
they do not go after people quite the same way but they sure are very similar in how they run their org.
This week's episode with Paul Haggis was our (my wife's and my) favorite. Could totally relate to his experience. Just swap in JW Speak for all of the Scientology Speak and you've got the same thing.
